Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings, which included the work A wooded landscape with cattle by Thomas Barker. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,568.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Barker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Roman Capriccio With Figures, The Colosseum Beyond in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 23,300.00 (€ 29,704.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wooded landscape with cattle von Thomas Barker zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.568,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Barker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Roman Capriccio With Figures, The Colosseum Beyond im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.300,00 (€ 29.704,21).
