Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The rush-bearing at Ambleside, Westmorland by Thomas Allom was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 746.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Allom achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sack of Corinth in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 64,353.63).
