Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A camel train arriving at Philadelphia; and Travellers resting at Thyatira, a pair by Thomas Allom was sold in the Travel & Exploration auction at Bonhams in London in February 2021. The price achieved of GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,352.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Allom have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Sack of Corinth in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 64,353.63).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.352,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Allom auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Sack of Corinth im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 64.353,63).
