Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Extensive View of London From St Paul'S Cathedral, Looking West by Thomas Allom was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,080.00 (€ 5,903.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Allom achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sack of Corinth in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 64,353.63).
