Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Bathers by Theofrastos Triantafyllidis was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in May 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,119.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theofrastos Triantafyllidis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Greek Landscape in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 29,300.00 (€ 37,353.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Bathers von Theofrastos Triantafyllidis im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.119,06) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theofrastos Triantafyllidis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Greek Landscape im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.300,00 (€ 37.353,36).
