Auction result well in line with expectations
The work New York Harbor by Theodore Earl Butler was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,562.50 (€ 27,963.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Earl Butler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flag Day in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 552,500.00 (€ 487,944.89).
