Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Pictures, which included the work Moutons dans la bergerie by Théo van Sluys. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,887.97). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Théo van Sluys - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep and Chickens in a Farm Interior, which sold at auction in April 2005 for USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,932.97).
