Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work A stable with sheep and chickens by Théo van Sluys for USD 9,400.00 (€ 10,077.19). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century Paintings at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Théo van Sluys have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2005 by the work Sheep and Chickens in a Farm Interior at USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,932.97).
