This price was achieved in the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 450,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thawan Duchanee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scream of Sorrowful, which sold at auction in November this year for HKD 6,048,000.00 (€ 709,702.97).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 450.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Thawan Duchanee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scream of Sorrowful beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für HKD 6.048.000,00 (€ 709.702,97) versteigert wurde.
