Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Fish by Thawan Duchanee. The price achieved of HKD 336,000.00 (€ 33,749.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thawan Duchanee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scream of Sorrowful in November this year with an auction result of HKD 6,048,000.00 (€ 709,702.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fish von Thawan Duchanee zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 336.000,00 (€ 33.749,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thawan Duchanee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scream of Sorrowful im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.048.000,00 (€ 709.702,97).
