Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cow by Thawan Duchanee was sold in the Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2010. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,705.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 45,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thawan Duchanee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scream of Sorrowful in November this year with an auction result of HKD 6,048,000.00 (€ 709,702.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cow von Thawan Duchanee wurde im November 2010 in der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 3.705,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thawan Duchanee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scream of Sorrowful im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.048.000,00 (€ 709.702,97).
