Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Morning In Shau Kei Wan by Tchan Fou-Li was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 25,000.00 – 28,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 22,500.00 (€ 2,092.65). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tchan Fou-Li - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Des Voeux Road West, which sold at auction in October 2012 for HKD 47,500.00 (€ 4,728.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Morning In Shau Kei Wan von Tchan Fou-Li im April 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 25.000,00 – 28.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 22.500,00 (€ 2.092,65) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Tchan Fou-Li mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Des Voeux Road West beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für HKD 47.500,00 (€ 4.728,74) versteigert wurde.
