Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work People Under Umbrellas by Tay Bak Koi for HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,859.18). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tay Bak Koi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden Harmony in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,143.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit People Under Umbrellas von Tay Bak Koi für HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.859,18) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tay Bak Koi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Golden Harmony im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 71.143,20).
