Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Buffaloes In Serenity by Tay Bak Koi was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2019. The price achieved of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 22,873.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 140,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tay Bak Koi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Golden Harmony, which sold at auction in April 2019 for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,143.20).

Die Arbeit Buffaloes In Serenity von Tay Bak Koi wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 22.873,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 140.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tay Bak Koi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Golden Harmony beobachtet, die im April 2019 für HKD 625.000,00 (€ 71.143,20) versteigert wurde.
