Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grain - Conjoined Mandelbrot Quartet by Tauba Auerbach was sold in the Post-War to Present auction at Christies in New York in March this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 113,400.00 (€ 104,304.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tauba Auerbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Fold) in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,426,500.00 (€ 1,995,317.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Grain - Conjoined Mandelbrot Quartet von Tauba Auerbach wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 104.304,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tauba Auerbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Fold) im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.426.500,00 (€ 1.995.317,20).
