Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Recto: Two groups of figures, studies for the Frangipani Chapel, San Marcello al Corso Verso: Studies for the lunette above the altar in the Frangipani Chapel and an architectural design for a wall decoration by Taddeo Zuccaro was sold in the From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 220,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 226,800.00 (€ 186,897.40). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Taddeo Zuccaro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A seated man and studies of male figures behind him, which sold at auction in October 2021 for USD 750,000.00 (€ 649,238.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Recto: Two groups of figures, studies for the Frangipani Chapel, San Marcello al Corso Verso: Studies for the lunette above the altar in the Frangipani Chapel and an architectural design for a wall decoration von Taddeo Zuccaro wurde im Januar 2021 in der Auktion From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 220.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 226.800,00 (€ 186.897,40) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Taddeo Zuccaro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A seated man and studies of male figures behind him beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für USD 750.000,00 (€ 649.238,23) versteigert wurde.
