Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Legends, Landscapes, and Lovelies | Photographs, which included the work Canale Della Giudecca Iii, Venezia by Sze Tsung Leong. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,458.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sze Tsung Leong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Guanajuato I, from Cities, 2009, which sold at auction in April 2017 for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,620.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Legends, Landscapes, and Lovelies | Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Canale Della Giudecca Iii, Venezia von Sze Tsung Leong zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.458,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sze Tsung Leong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Guanajuato I, from Cities, 2009 beobachtet, die im April 2017 für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.620,47) versteigert wurde.
