Etching with aquatint in colors on wove paper, signed in pencil, dated '1978' and numbered AP 1 (an artist's proof, aside from the edition of 50), with the blindstamp of the publisher/printer Parasol Press/Patrick Foy and Doris Simmelink at Crown Point Press, San Francisco, with full margins, framed.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Paper Under Tape, Paint Over Paper by Sylvia Plimack Mangold was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in February 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,156.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sylvia Plimack Mangold achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Floor With Light At 10:30 Am in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 101,461.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Paper Under Tape, Paint Over Paper von Sylvia Plimack Mangold kam im Februar 2020 bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.156,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sylvia Plimack Mangold erzielen.
