Despite a disappointment, a good price for Sydney Laurence
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Cache by Sydney Laurence for USD 98,500.00 (€ 70,766.58). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, The Cache is the most expensive artwork by Sydney Laurence that we have observed at auction so far.
