Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rainy Day 24 x 30 in. framed 29 x 34 1/2 in. by Sydney Laurence was sold in the The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year. The price achieved of USD 31,875.00 (€ 30,877.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sydney Laurence - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cache, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 98,500.00 (€ 70,766.58).
