Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Alaska That Was by Sydney Laurence was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 22,950.00 (€ 21,780.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sydney Laurence - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cache, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 98,500.00 (€ 70,766.58).

Die Arbeit The Alaska That Was von Sydney Laurence kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 22.950,00 (€ 21.780,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sydney Laurence mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Cache beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 98.500,00 (€ 70.766,58) versteigert wurde.
