This artwork by Sydney Harpley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2010. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Seated nude reading sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,053.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sydney Harpley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Summer's Day in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 30,125.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sydney Harpley erzielte im Oktober 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Seated nude reading für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.053,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sydney Harpley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Summer's Day im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 30.125,36).
