The work Learning to Swim by Sydney Harpley was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2017. It achieved a price of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,183.89), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 41%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sydney Harpley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Summer's Day, which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 30,125.36).

Die Arbeit Learning to Swim von Sydney Harpley kam im März 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.183,89) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 41%. Für andere Arbeiten von Sydney Harpley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Summer's Day beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 30.125,36) versteigert wurde.
