Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Birthday Collage For Ilya Bolotowsky by Suzy Frelinghuysen was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 18,000.00 – 24,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,393.83). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Suzy Frelinghuysen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 552,500.00 (€ 487,944.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Birthday Collage For Ilya Bolotowsky von Suzy Frelinghuysen im April 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000,00 – 24.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.393,83) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Suzy Frelinghuysen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 552.500,00 (€ 487.944,89).
