Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Morin kanbaku zu (Viewing a waterfall in the deep forest) by Suzuki Shonen. The price achieved of USD 1,140.00 (€ 945.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Suzuki Shonen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autumn Grasses And Flowers; Reverse of Each Screen With Silhouettes of Mountains In Gold Leaf in March 2005 with an auction result of USD 9,000.00 (€ 6,939.63).
