Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Zaman Monyet Makan Roti (Era of Monkey Eating Bread) by Suraji. The price achieved of HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,947.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Other works by Suraji have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2019 the work Aceh Vs. Jogja was auctioned for HKD 237,500.00 (€ 27,181.81).

Im November 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zaman Monyet Makan Roti (Era of Monkey Eating Bread) von Suraji zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.947,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Suraji konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2019 die Arbeit Aceh Vs. Jogja für HKD 237.500,00 (€ 27.181,81) versteigert.
