Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in London held the auction The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg, which included the work Untitled (Abstract) by Sunil Das. The price achieved of GBP 1,764.00 (€ 2,075.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sunil Das achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Friends 1 in July 2007 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 26,256.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Abstract) von Sunil Das zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.764,00 (€ 2.075,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sunil Das erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Friends 1 im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 26.256,29).
