Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Friends 2 by Sunil Das was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 27,000.00 (€ 19,692.22). Other works by Sunil Das have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2007 by the work Friends 1 at USD 36,000.00 (€ 26,256.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Friends 2 von Sunil Das im Juli 2007 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 27.000,00 (€ 19.692,22) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Sunil Das wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2007 die Arbeit Friends 1 mit USD 36.000,00 (€ 26.256,29).
