Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kumi Sugai could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Bird changed hands for HKD 77,500.00 (€ 8,821.76) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 80,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kumi Sugai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work KAGURA (Sacred Music and Dance) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 277,409.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kumi Sugai konnte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Bird für HKD 77.500,00 (€ 8.821,76) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kumi Sugai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit KAGURA (Sacred Music and Dance) im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 293.000,00 (€ 277.409,58).
