In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book, which included the work The Australian boyfriend by Sue Macartney-Snape. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 896.25 (€ 1,268.44), 49% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sue Macartney-Snape - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunday morning in the shires, which sold at auction in December 2004 for GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,735.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Australian boyfriend von Sue Macartney-Snape zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 896,25 (€ 1.268,44) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sue Macartney-Snape mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunday morning in the shires beobachtet, die im Dezember 2004 für GBP 3.346,00 (€ 4.735,51) versteigert wurde.
