The work The Polo Wife (Illustrated); And The Football Star'S Girlfriend by Sue Macartney-Snape was worth GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,489.21) to a buyer in June 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 600.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sue Macartney-Snape; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sunday morning in the shires sold at auction in December 2004 with the realized price of GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,735.51).
