In March 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Modern and Contemporary Indian Art, which included this untitled work by Sudarshan Shetty. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,000.00 (€ 6,729.48), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sudarshan Shetty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 37,284.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im März 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Indian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Sudarshan Shetty zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.000,00 (€ 6.729,48) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sudarshan Shetty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 37.284,28).
