Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Naomi Campbell, New York City by Steven Meisel was auctioned at Phillips in London in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 35,000.00 – 45,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,447.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steven Meisel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work CK One, New York City, which sold at auction in November 2017 for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 85,136.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Naomi Campbell, New York City von Steven Meisel kam im Mai 2019 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.447,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Steven Meisel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit CK One, New York City beobachtet, die im November 2017 für GBP 75.000,00 (€ 85.136,16) versteigert wurde.
