Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Steve McCurry could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in October last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Blue Mosque, Mazar-E-Sharif, Afghanistan changed hands for USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,283.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Steve McCurry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010 in November 2018 with an auction result of INR 3,750,000.00 (€ 47,359.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Steve McCurry konnte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Blue Mosque, Mazar-E-Sharif, Afghanistan für USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.283,47) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Steve McCurry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 3.750.000,00 (€ 47.359,36).
