This artwork by Stanislas Lepri achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. In the The Sleep of Reason Part II | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online auction, the work La Strega (The Witch) sold for USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,419.28) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Stanislas Lepri; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot L'homme au visage craquelé sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,716.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Stanislas Lepri erzielte im November 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Sleep of Reason Part II | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online wurde die Arbeit La Strega (The Witch) für USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.419,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Stanislas Lepri; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit L'homme au visage craquelé im Mai letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 20.160,00 (€ 23.716,32).
