Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bercermin IV by Srihadi Soedarsono was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in January last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 3,780.00 (€ 432.55). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Srihadi Soedarsono achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dalam Meditasi Bedhoyo Ketawang (State Of Meditation - Bedhoyo Ketawang) in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 3,500,000.00 (€ 383,472.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bercermin IV von Srihadi Soedarsono im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 3.780,00 (€ 432,55) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Srihadi Soedarsono erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dalam Meditasi Bedhoyo Ketawang (State Of Meditation - Bedhoyo Ketawang) im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.500.000,00 (€ 383.472,06).
