Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Les Tombes 'Mother, Father' by Sophie Calle. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,266.75) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sophie Calle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sleepers (Les dormeurs) in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 218,500.00 (€ 162,417.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Les Tombes 'Mother, Father' von Sophie Calle zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.266,75) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sophie Calle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sleepers (Les dormeurs) im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 218.500,00 (€ 162.417,30).
