In May 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Old Domain by Sopheap Pich. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 325,000.00 (€ 34,355.01), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sopheap Pich; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Memory sold at auction in November 2018 with the realized price of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 45,147.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Domain von Sopheap Pich zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 34.355,01) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sopheap Pich; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Memory im November 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 45.147,05).
