Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sopheap Pich could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Ordeal 1 changed hands for HKD 214,200.00 (€ 23,826.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 220,000.00 – 380,000.00. Other works by Sopheap Pich have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2018 by the work Memory at HKD 400,000.00 (€ 45,147.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sopheap Pich konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Ordeal 1 für HKD 214.200,00 (€ 23.826,78) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 220.000,00 – 380.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Sopheap Pich wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2018 die Arbeit Memory mit HKD 400.000,00 (€ 45.147,05).
