Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work River Landscape by Song Xu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 150,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 22,848.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Song Xu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scholar under Locust in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 2,440,000.00 (€ 282,194.73).
