Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Excerpt From The Chunhuage Tie In Running Script Calligraphy by Song Cao. The price achieved of HKD 26,290.00 (€ 2,648.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 25,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Song Cao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poem In Cursive Script in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 123,288.74).

Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY durch, in der auch die Arbeit Excerpt From The Chunhuage Tie In Running Script Calligraphy von Song Cao zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 26.290,00 (€ 2.648,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Song Cao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poem In Cursive Script im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 123.288,74).
