Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Excerpt from a Poem by Huaisu by Song Cao was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 6,174.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Song Cao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poem In Cursive Script in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 123,288.74).
