Despite a disappointment, a good price for Solomon Wilson
When the work The Wreck by Solomon Wilson was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,200.00 (€ 3,023.43). Despite this disappointing result, The Wreck is the most expensive artwork by Solomon Wilson that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Solomon Wilson
Als die Arbeit The Wreck von Solomon Wilson im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.200,00 (€ 3.023,43) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist The Wreck das teuerste Kunstwerk von Solomon Wilson, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
