Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Solomon Wilson could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The House Sale auction, the work Figures adjacent to docks changed hands for USD 780.00 (€ 614.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Solomon Wilson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Wreck in September this year with an auction result of USD 3,200.00 (€ 3,023.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Solomon Wilson konnte im September 2006 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The House Sale wechselte die Arbeit Figures adjacent to docks für USD 780,00 (€ 614,80) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Solomon Wilson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Wreck im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.200,00 (€ 3.023,43).
