Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Isometric Figure (Steps) by Sol LeWitt was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 55,128.23) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Isometric Figure (Steps) von Sol LeWitt kam im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 55.128,23) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 45.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
