A top price for Soga Shōhaku
This artwork by Soga Shōhaku achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2018. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Tethered Birds Of Prey sold for USD 516,500.00 (€ 427,778.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. This high result makes Tethered Birds Of Prey the most expensive artwork by Soga Shōhaku that we have observed at auctions so far.
