This artwork by Soga Shōhaku achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2003. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Eight views of the Xiao and Xiang Rivers sold for USD 153,100.00 (€ 92,787.88) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Soga Shōhaku have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tethered Birds Of Prey in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 516,500.00 (€ 427,778.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Soga Shōhaku erzielte im September 2003 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wurde die Arbeit Eight views of the Xiao and Xiang Rivers für USD 153.100,00 (€ 92.787,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Soga Shōhaku auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tethered Birds Of Prey im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 516.500,00 (€ 427.778,70).
