Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2016 Christies in New York held the auction AN INQUIRING MIND: AMERICAN COLLECTING OF JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART, which included the work Mount Horai by Soga Shōhaku. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,925.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Soga Shōhaku achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tethered Birds Of Prey in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 516,500.00 (€ 427,778.70).
