Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Imaginary Chinese Landscape by Soga Shōhaku. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 72,469.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Soga Shōhaku have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tethered Birds Of Prey in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 516,500.00 (€ 427,778.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Imaginary Chinese Landscape von Soga Shōhaku zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 72.469,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Soga Shōhaku auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tethered Birds Of Prey im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 516.500,00 (€ 427.778,70).
