Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work A Collection Of Designs For Household Furniture And Interior Decoration. London: J. Taylor, 1808 by George Smith for GBP 250.00 (€ 300.60). This price was achieved in the auction An Exceptional Eye: A Private British Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Home - Be It Ever So Humble in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 54,000.00 (€ 80,202.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Collection Of Designs For Household Furniture And Interior Decoration. London: J. Taylor, 1808 von George Smith für GBP 250,00 (€ 300,60) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion An Exceptional Eye: A Private British Collection bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Home - Be It Ever So Humble im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.000,00 (€ 80.202,47).
